BSF Jawans stumble upon explosives dumped in Odisha forest

Malkangiri: The BSF Jawans today recovered bombs dumped in a forest in Malkangiri district, preventing a major explosion during an anti-Maoist operation in Odisha.

The explosives were randomly placed underground reportedly by Maoists to cause extensive casualty at Kamarguda forest under Padia police limits in Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected region.

According to reports, the BSF 142 Battalion Jawans found five powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during a combing operation at the forest in Malkangiri and successfully defused the bombs to avert a major Maoist menace in the district.
