Buchi Babu Cricket: Kerala pile up huge total against Odisha

A blistering ton by Vishnu Vinod powered Kerala to a massive total against Odisha on the first day of Buchi Babu All India Invitational Cricket tournament at Chennai here today.

Winning the toss, Kerala lost two quick wickets with the score at 65 for 2. However, opener Vishnu Vinod and Akshay Kodoth consolidated the innings and took the score to 260 thrashing the Odisha bowlers all over the place.

Though wickets fell at quick succession, the Kerala batsmen continued to maintain a health run rate after Vinod was out with the score at 261.

The Kerala opener smashed 160 runs from 162 balls with 15 fours and eight sixes.

However, M Manish (67 not out) and Jaffar Jamal (34) took the score to a healthy total at 412 for 9 in 100 overs.

For Odisha, captain Biplab Samantray took three wickets, Suryakanta Pradhan and Tukuna Sahoo claimed two wickets each and Alok Mangaraj and Dheeraj Singh got one wicket each.
