Budget session of Odisha Assembly was today adjourned sine die, seven days ahead of the schedule.

Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned the House for an indefinite period. The session was scheduled to end on April 7.

Notably, three business days were remaining in the second phase of the Budget session.

Amid uproar and disruptions, the Assembly today passed Rs 1.10 lakh crore Appropriation bill for year 2017-18.

Earlier in the day, the Assembly witnessed repeated adjournments over gangrape of a girl in Ganjam district. The House was adjourned thrice amid ruckus by Opposition members demanding Crime Branch probe and Chief Minister’s statement over the incident.
