Builder arrested for misbehaving with woman staff in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A builder was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman employee during a New Year party at office in Bhubaneswar.

The accused has been identified as Shyam Sundar Sethi alias Ashok, the Managing Director of Sai Krishna Developers. He is the resident of Bhola village under Chandaka police limits.

According to reports, the MD of the real estate firm had hosted a lavish party on January 3 afternoon at his office at Khandagiri area for his staff to celebrate the New Year. All the employees were enjoying the party by dancing with colleagues.

Reportedly, Ashok was also moving to beat of music played during the party. During the period, he found a woman employee standing alone without getting involved in the party.

Suddenly, he approached her and tried to make her dance with him. When she denied, he forced her to dance following which she shoved him back. Reacting to it, Ashok abused her in presence of others and directed her to leave the place.

Being insulted by the Boss, woman employee lodged a complaint with Khandagiri Police against the builder over his inappropriate behaviour towards her at the office during New Year party.

Following allegation, the Khandagiri Police arrested the builder on Saturday and forwarded him to a local court. Later, he was sent to judicial custody after his bail application was turned down by the court.
