Bhubaneswar: The Badagada police have arrested a builder for allegedly raping a married woman on the pretext of providing her a job in Odisha capital.

The accused has been identified as Debashish Samantaray (37), a resident of Kedar Gouri Vihar in the city.

According to police sources, Samantaray had told the woman to visit his office at Kedar Gouri Vihar for a job interview. However, he allegedly raped the woman at the office and threatened to kill her if she dared to disclose the incident.

The victim had lodged a police complaint in this regard on September 15, on the basis of which he was apprehended yesterday. The accused was later forwarded to court.
