Bulls forced into govt office to draw Collector’s attention

Kendrapara: In a unique protest, residents of Rajnagar today drove a herd of bulls and cattle into the premises of Rajnagar block office when Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma was holding a meeting at the office building.

Annoyed over the bull menace in Rajnagar, the locals drove as many as 500 bulls and cattle into the block office premises as a mark of protest.

The Collector, who was holding a public hearing at the block office, stopped the meeting midway. Later he discussed the matter with representatives of the residents and other local government officials and assured of action.

“I have discussed the issue with both the parties and will ensure that concrete step is being taken to resolve the issue,” Verma told mediapersons.

A local said the residents had earlier appealed the administration to address the bull menace, but no step has been taken to address the problems.
