Bureaucratic reshuffle: Vineel Krishna appointed Secy to Odisha CM; Puri Collector new OMC MD

Bhubaneswar: In a major reshuffle in bureaucracy on the occasion of New Year, Odisha Government appointed IAS Officer R Vineel Krishna as the Special Secretary to Chief Minister.

The 2005-batch IAS officer is currently serving as the Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd with additional charge of Director of Sports Department, MD of OMECL and OSD in the office of the Chief Minister (COVID Management).

With fresh appointment, he is allowed to remain in additional charge of Special Secretary to Government, Sports and Youth Services Department.

The Government also appointed 2007-batch IAS officer Balwant Singh, who is currently posted as the Collector of Puri district, as the MD of Odisha Mining Corporation replacing Vineel Krishna. In addition to his own duties, Singh is allowed to remain in additional charge of MD of OMECL, Bhubaneswar.

In place of Balwant Singh, the State Government appointed Samarth Verma as the Collector of Puri district. The 2011-batch IAS officer is presently serving as the Collector of Kendrapara district.

Moreover, Md. Sadique Alam, the ED of CMGI, Bhubaneswar has been allowed to remain in additional charge of Director, Industries. The additional appointment of Reghu G as Director of Industries will stand remain terminated from the date Sadique Alam takes over the charge.

In the bureaucratic reshuffle, Bhubaneswar Special ADM Parul Patawari, who is in-charge of Covid management, with additional charge of Additional Commissioner in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary to Government, Works Department.

Similarly, the 2015-batch IAS officer Amrit Ruturaj, the PD, Rayagada DRDA, has been appointed as the Collector of Kendrapara district transferring incumbent Samarth Verma.

Vishal Singh, the 2016-batch IAS officer, who is the Special ADM in Khordha, has been appointed as the PD, DRDA of Jajpur district.

Besides, Rayagada Collector Pramod Kumar Behera (OAS officer), has been appointed as the Additional Secretary in Revenue & Disaster Management Department of Odisha Government. In his place, the Government has appointed Jagatsinghpur Collector Saroj Kumar Mishra as the Collector of Rayagada district.
