Bus falls into gorge in Odisha; 20 injured

Gajapati: A private bus en-route to Parlakhemundi in Gajapati from Bhubaneswar skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Marlava near Titising in the district in wee hours today.

Though no casualty was reported, around 20 passengers were injured, including six critically, in the mishap.

Source said the incident took place as the driver of private bus named Ispat lost control over the vehicle in wee hours today. On receiving information, Khajuripada police reached the spot and rescued the injured with the help of locals and rushed them to Community Health Centre (CHC) at Khajuripada for treatment.
