Bus owner fined whopping Rs 7.07 lakh in Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: Officials of the Regional Transport Office, Boudh today fined a whopping Rs 7,07,230 on a bus owner for violating rules under the amended Motor Vehicle Act and unable to present necessary documents. During vehicle checking near Ghantapada, the RTO officials checked the bus bearing registration number OR03B6185, which was going towards Khuntigora from Bargarh.

After the bus driver failed to produce the required documents, the RTO officials imposed the fine on bus owner, Sanjib Sahu and seized the vehicle.

A fine of Rs 5,000 were imposed on the bus owner for using the vehicle without registration and fitness certificate, Rs 500 for general offence, Rs 5,000 for allowing the driver to drive the bus without valid driving licence.

This apart, Rs 10,000 were imposed on the bus owner for violating air and noise pollution, Rs 10,000 for using the vehicle without permit or violating permit conditions, Rs 2,000 for plying the bus without insurance. The bus owner was also asked to pay Rs 6,74,730 as Odisha Motor Vehicle Tax from September 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020.
