Bus runs over youth on way to watch Ganesh idol immersion in Odisha

Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a youth was killed after being run over by a speeding bus in Kunjakanta area of Dhenkanal town today. The deceased, identified as Keshab Dehuri (28) and son of one Manguli Dehuri of Chandi Sahi was on his way to watch the immersion ceremony of Ganesh idols during which he met with the accident.

When Keshab was riding a two-wheeler in Kunjakanta, he was hit by the bus going towards Angul from Cuttack. Following the collision, Keshab fell down and the bus ran over him killing him on the spot.

Palpable tension erupted in the town after the road mishap when locals staged a blockade on main road and damaged the bus. On the other hand, driver and conductor of the bus have fled the spot.

As per latest reports, police reached the spot and were trying to pacify the agitators to withdraw their strike.
