Rourkela: A businessman was found dead inside a room of a hotel at Udit Nagar in Odisha's Rourkela city, today.

The deceased has been identified as Dheeraj Verma of Rajgangpur area in Sundargarh district.

The door of the room had remained locked from inside for a long time. Suspecting foul play, the hotel staff opened the door and found the body of the businessman hanging from the ceiling fan of the room.

On being informed, police reached the spot along with a scientific team and started investigation into the incident. "We have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. The reason behind the death can be ascertained after the autopsy," a police official said.
