As many as eight masked miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments and cash from a businessman and fired at him before fleeing the spot on Sunday in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to the reports, eight masked criminals reached Rashika’s grocery shop in Jaypur village under Bamebari police limits yesterday evening at about 8 pm and threatened people to vacate the store.

After the panic-stricken customers left the spot, the robbers entered into the victim's shop and later into his house and robbed gold ornaments and cash.

While leaving the spot, they fired a bullet into his chest. Injured Rashika was admitted to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital as his health condition deteriorated.
