Cabinet approves development of Utility Corridor at Gopalpur in Odisha’s Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet today approved an EPC tender for the construction of a Utility Corridor project between Gopalpur Port and TATA Steel Industrial Park at Gopalpur in Ganjam district.

The ambitious project is to be executed through IDCO to provide the logistics facilities required for existing and upcoming industries in Gopalpur Industrial Park. This corridor shall provide seamless and effective operational linkages between TATA Steel Industrial Park and Gopalpur Port.

The State Government has taken a futuristic initiative to cater to the demand of existing and upcoming industries in the Gopalpur Industrial Park for effective and economical logistics.

The project is proposed to be implemented in EPC mode. The EPC contractor will take up detailed design, engineering, construction, and O&M for 10 years.

The scope of the work broadly includes a site survey, detailed design, construction of roads, a sleeper for utility pipeline, internal & external infrastructure works, pump house with crane facility, firefighting works, stormwater drain, flyover over PWD road, soil retaining structure, sleeper base, cable trench, SFRC compound wall, landscaping, high mast lights etc.

With the construction of the Utility Corridor, the industrial development in the area will get a tremendous boost.

The mega project was approved with an estimated cost of Rs 128.88 crore excluding GST. The cost includes construction, and maintenance of the project during a defect liability period of five years and an operation and maintenance of 10 years.
