Cabinet nod to combined technical services recruitment examination in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In order to streamline the recruitment processes and complete the recruitment examinations in a reasonable time period, the Odisha government has decided to conduct a combined technical services recruitment examination in the place of multiple technical examinations conducted by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission.

The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal to frame Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination Rules-2022, said Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.

“This will save the valuable time of the applicants and reduce the examination-related expenditure of the state government,” said the Chief Secretary.

The state government has also decided to conduct a combined postgraduate level recruitment examination in the place of multiple examinations for specialist Group-B posts conducted by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission. The state Cabinet has given its nod to frame the Combined Postgraduate Level Recruitment Examination for Specialist Posts or Services Rules-2022, said the Chief Secretary.

The Cabinet approved a proposal for amendment of the Odisha Heads of Department (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Junior Assistants, Assistant Section Officers and Section Officers in the offices of the Heads of Departments) Rules-2019.

As per the amendment, some posts in the rank of Assistant Section Officers would be reserved for the promotion of senior typists, diarists, recorders and dispatchers in the concerned office.

A proposal for waiver of rent of Skill Development Extension Centres (SDECs) and Skill Development Centres (SDCs) from March, 2020 to October, 2020 was also approved by the Cabinet.

The skill development centres were closed for the above mentioned period due to the Covid-19 pandemic, said the Chief Secretary.
