Cadastral map along with patta mandatory in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Taking initiative to check land corruption and bring transparency in revenue department, the State government made issuing of cadastral map along with patta (legal document for land ownership) ‘mandatory’ at tehsils from September 1.

Disciplinary action will be taken against the revenue officials if found violating the directive, a source in the Revenue department said.

As per directive by the Revenue department, the handwritten work to prepare land documents at tehsils will be completely banned from August 31. The action will be taken against the concerned officials in rank of sub-collector or additional collector for neglecting to monitor the instructions made to tehsils.

The directive was issued by the Revenue & Disaster Management Principal Secretary Chandrasekhar Kumar to all the additional collectors, sub collectors, tehsildars and additional tehsildars through a video conferencing programme on Wednesday for usage of cadastral map.

The collectors have also been informed for implementation of the directive at tehsils.

Sources in the department said that the cadastral map will be provided along with the land patta (land records) to the land owner at tehsils.

Besides, it is mandatory to do the land related work including land conversion, partition, encroachment and lease on the Revenue Court Case Monitoring System (RCCMS). Under the system, the data related to number of disposal of revenue cases and pending cases will be uploaded on the official website of Revenue department on daily basis.

The website will be opened for the public to know details of work progress at tehsil office.
