Cadre woman Maoist surrenders in Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada, May 3:

A cadre woman Maoist and five militia members of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the police in Odisha’s Rayagada district today.

The woman Maoist identified as Rashmita Sikoka alias Kuni, a cadre Maoist belonging to the Bansadhara-Ghumusara-Nagavali Division of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) along with five militia members surrendered before the police in the Dangamati forested area of Rayagada district, reports said.

Rashmita was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head announced by the state government, reports added.

As per reports, Rashmita was allegedly involved in serious offenses like the exchange of fire with security personnel in the Dangamati forested area in which a militia member was killed.

Similarly, she was allegedly involved in the torching of vehicles and equipment of a contractor at a road building site under Muniguda police limits in addition to the murder of one Shyam Karjaka in Nirguji village under Kalyansingpur police limits, reports further added.
