Candidates’ names go missing; polling postponed at 3 booths in Odisha

Polling was postponed at three booths in Jajpur district of Odisha today during the last phase of panchayat polls following missing of names of sarpanch candidates from ballot paper.

According to reports, five candidates were contesting for the post of sarpanch in Kantor panchayat under Korei block in the district.

However, names of three candidates were missing from the ballot paper which were issued to booth no 10, 11 and 12 in Kantor panchayat, thereby containing only two names.

Tension erupted following the disruption and district administration postponed polling at the above mentioned booths.
