Bhubaneswar, Mar 21:
The CBI probing the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam in the state today visited the secretariat of the Odisha Assembly to inquire into vehicle passes issued by it to Ministers and legislators during the period 2010-13.
This is for the second time CBI has inquired about the vehicle passes issued to MLAs and Ministers, the last time being in November 2016.
Reports said a team of CBI officials today visited the Assembly secretariat and sought details of vehicle passes issued from 2010-13.
As the Central investigation agency doubted some information provided earlier, it sought further details, reports added.
Notably, the CBI had received complaints from varied sources that chit fund firm promoters had gifted vehicles to some legislators.
It will be worthwhile to mention here that Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Das Burma was under the CBI scanner for allegedly receiving an SUV from Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradeep Sethy.
The CBI had in April last year summoned Das Burma and had asked him to furnish details of his vehicles.
