Carcass of whale found on Puri sea beach in Odisha

Decomposed carcass of a whale was found behind Panthanivas on Puri sea beach in Odisha this morning.

On being informed, Forest department officials reached the spot, recovered the body of the animal and sent it for autopsy to ascertain the exact reason behind the death.
According to Forest department sources, the carcass of the 25-feet-long whale was carried from deep sea to the beach by high tides owing to strong winds yesterday.
It is suspected that the whale died 4-5 days ago.
On February 16 this year, carcass of a 30-feet-long whale was found along the sea coast.
