Cuttack, Feb 14:

The Odisha High Court on Friday posted the next hearing of petition filed by former Director General of Police and present Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Prakash Mishra challenging a case filed by the State Vigilance against against him on alleged irregularities in the purchase of construction materials during his tenure as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of the Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC), to February 19.

Prakash-MishraAppearing before the single bench of Justice SC Parija, Mishra’s counsel and senior lawyer Sanjit Mohanty claimed that there has been no irregularity in the purchase of construction materials during Mishra’s tenure as per the report of the Accountant General (AG).

“As per the prevailing practices, the Corporation had made advance payment to the suppliers, who later delivered the iron rods and cement. Considering the above, the case filed by the State Vigilance on financial irregularity to the tune of Rs 59 crore is absolutely baseless and mala fide in nature,” he argued.
