Cash looted from BJD MLA Byomkesh Ray’s car in Odisha capital

A legislator of Odisha’s ruling party today fell victim to miscreants as cash and other valuables were allegedly looted from his vehicle parked in the city.

According to reports, Chandbali MLA Byomkesh Ray had to part with Rs 54, 000 cash, garments, a suitcase and some documents as looters broke into his car near Master Canteen square here this evening and made away with the valuables.

The BJD MLA was had parked the vehicle in the busy area in the heart of the city and had gone to participate in the candle light rally organised by his party to appeal people to maintain peace and harmony in the strife-torn Bhadrak town.

Following the incident, a case was filed at the Kharavel Nagar police station.

Police have begun investigation into the incident.
