Cash reward for info on beheaded woman: Odisha police

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today announced Rs 50,000 cash reward for identifying the deceased woman, whose headless body was found from roadside near Dasapur on Bharatpur-Chandaka road here recently.

Describing features of the woman, the CP said the woman aged between 30 and 35 years had wheatish complexion with a height of 5.3 feet. The woman with sound health had a tattoo of Trishul  (trident) inked below the elbow of her right hand.

“Those having any information about the deceased woman can provide the same by dialing 8280338323  or 8280338296,” the CP tweeted adding that identity of the person, who will give the right information will not be disclosed.

The CP has also released a poster highlighting features of the woman seeking help from public for identification of the deceased.

Earlier in the day, the first post-mortem report of the body arrived from Capital Hospital. Quoting the report, police informed that the woman was beheaded with a sharp weapon after being strangled to death. However, the body has again been sent to AIIMS here for re-autopsy.

On February 4, the woman’s body with a severed head was found on roadside near Dasapur on Bharatpur-Chandaka road here. On reaching, police had seized a knife and a pair of gloves from the crime scene.
