An Odisha television actor, who had leveled allegations of casting couch and exploitation, recorded her statement before a magistrate in a local court here.
The complainant Sarmistha Priyadarshini deposed before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here and recorded her statement under Sec 164 of CrPC.
“A case was registered on Sunday and I have received the FIR copy yesterday. My statement was recorded today in the court. I am hopeful that I will get justice. No matter whether they are celebrities or influential people, I should get my rights as a citizen. They should be arrested and punished,” Sarmistha Priyadarshini said.
Earlier yesterday, the actor had recorded her statement under Sec 161 with the Mahila Police station here.

Based on her complaint, Commissionerate Police had on yesterday served notices to six persons-- directors Tapas Sargaria and Chandi Parija, event manager Bapi Jena, producer Subrat Naik, husband-wife duo and tele serial producers Nihar Samal and Bini Samal.
On Sunday, Mahila Police had registered a case under Sec 354, 294, 506 and 34 of IPC.
