Caught on CCTV: Hooligans bash youth with cricket stumps in Odisha [Watch] 

Angul: Not giving a toss about law and order, four anti-socials bashed a youth with cricket stumps at Gandhi Marg here on October 2. The incident came to fore after CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.

The incident took place on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. When the youth, an agent of a finance company, was riding a bullet, four masked anti-socials waylaid him at Gandhi Marg. The hooligans had come on two bikes covering the number plates. While one of them stood near the bikes, three others went ahead and thrashed the youth brutally with cricket stumps.

The situation was so fierce that locals could not dare to save the youth. When the youth rushed into a grocery shop to escape, the hooligans dragged him out and again bashed him.

While the incident triggered panic among the locals, many questioned efficiency of police in maintaining law and order in the district.

“Earlier, there was no CCTVs. But now, when cameras have been installed everywhere, the anti-socials are committing such crimes without any fear of being caught. The district police should take this issue into serious consideration,” said a local.
