CB submits final charge sheet in Abhimanyu murder case

The State Crime Branch police on Wednesday submitted its final charge sheet in the case of the sensational murder of senior BJD leader Abhimanyu Sahu on December 15 last year.

DSP, Crime Branch Santosh Patnaik and IIC of Titlagarh Town Police station Chintamani Pradhan submitted the charge sheet to the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court here.

The 178-page charge sheet has mentioned the details of the post mortem report, materials seized in connection with the murder and the reports of the medical examination of the accused involved in the incident.

According to reports, the weapons used in the murder which had been sent to the State Forensic Laboratory, would be submitted to the court very soon.

It may be mentioned here that the state government had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the BJD leader’s murder a day after the gruesome incident.

Sahu was a strong contender for the BJD ticket for the Titlagarh Assembly seat. His wife, however, was given the party ticket after his unfortunate death.

In course of investigation, the Crime Branch police had arrested Alok Das, Naresh Singh alias Pental, Jagdish Bag and Santosh Rana and seized a car and a bike used by these four accused to carry out the crime.
