Sources said contractors working in Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) need to submit a labour license from the Regional Labor Commissioner’s office for executing any job inside the plant. Accordingly, a contractor, who had applied for renewal of his labour license, had met UDC MR Bhusan and requested him to process his case. Bhusan reportedly demanded Rs. 10,000/ as his 'normal charge' for this job.
The contractor had informed the CBI office, following which a trap was laid. As soon as Bhusan received the money from the contractor on Wednesday, he was nabbed by CBI officials.
“We have arrested MR. Bhusan red-handed and recovered the cash from him,” said a CBI official here. “He would be forwarded to CBI court in Bhubaneswar on Thursday,” he added.
