CBI arrests railway station master for receiving bribe in Odisha

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths arrested Jaroli railway station manager Subash Chandra Bhukta yesterday from his office in Keonjhar district of Odisha while accepting bribe from a transport agency.

According to reports, acting on a tip-off a team from Bhubaneswar CBI office conducted a raid and caught Subash red-handed when he was taking Rs 7000 bribe.

Later, the CBI officials conducted search operations at the station master’s government quarter in Jaroli, his residence in Puri and rented house in Visakhapatnam.

CBI sleuths seized Rs 4.5 lakh in cash, a number of bank passbooks and documents of many mineral export companies from his government quarter.

He had demanded Rs 47,000 bribe from a transport agency to pass overloading in train. We had information regarding it and we conducted a raid while he was taking the bribe money, informed an official.
