CBI to bring Ponzi firm directors on remand to Odisha

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigating into the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam will bring two directors of a Ponzi firm on remand to Odisha for interrogation.


The CBI had applied in a Kolkata court to take Pranab Mukherjee and Prabir Mukherjee -two arrested directors of Ponzi firm Infiniti Realcon on remand.

The court Sunday allowed the Central agency to take the duo on remand.

“During the remand period both will be interrogated about their operations in Odisha,” revealed a CBI officer.

The duo is accused of duping Rs 565 crore from gullible depositors in Odisha and neighbouring West Bengal.

The firm had mobilized deposits from investors by opening offices in Balasore and Bhadrak districts between 2009 and 2013.
