A three-member CBI team conducted a search at the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) office here and interrogated few budding cricketers in connection with the age fudging allegations.

According to sources, the sleuths interrogated around 30 young cricketers who are under scanner for forging documents.

Besides, the investigators quizzed staff of two city-based nursing homes and verified the documents validating the age of the sportspersons.

“We welcome the CBI probe. The Central agency has been probing the matter since long. We had provided the documents as sought by the investigators,” OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera said.

On Monday, the probe team members had scanned through the birth certificates of the players at Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) office.

Notably, CBI had begun a preliminary inquiry into the alleged irregularities last month where as many as 34 budding players came under scanner.

According to reports, the budding cricketers and athletes allegedly got selected for Cuttack-A and Cuttack-B teams for the Under-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament 2016 by furnishing forged date of birth certificates.
