CBI records statements of chit fund investors in Odisha’s Aska

Aska, Jan 29:

A three-member team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the multi-thousand crore rupee chit fund scam visited here today and examined documents of investors of two Ponzi firms GLP Developers Limited and Golden Land Developers Pvt Ltd.

The Central investigation agency also recorded statements of these investors.

According to reports, the three-member team led by CBI SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh held camp at the Revenue Inspection bungalow here and verified bonds, money receipts and other documents issued by the two firms to investors apart from recording their statements.

“We have recorded statements of the depositors and verified documents provided by these two companies to them. We will submit our report to the Supreme Court,” informed CBI SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh.

Singh was accompanied by CBI’s Additional SP Rajiv Sinha during the visit here.

Investors of these firms alleged before the CBI that these firms had defaulted on payment of maturity amounts to them.

These two Ponzi firms had reportedly collected around Rs 5 crore from investors in Aska area alone.
