New Delhi: Clearing the air over the ensuing CBSE Class X and XII exams, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today said there will be no board exams until February 2021.
During a live interaction with teachers, the Minister said the board exams will not be held in January or February. The government is yet to decide on the exam dates, he added.
There will be 33% internal choices in the exam, said Pokhiryal adding that 30% of the total syllabus has been scrapped and state boards are expected to declare the same.
He confirmed the CBSE board exams will not be cancelled. “Cancelling the exams and promoting students without the exam will put a stamp on these students. These students might face trouble in getting jobs and admissions at higher education institutions in future,” he added.
The Minister added that the exam will be conducted in offline mode.
Teachers raised their concern about lack of practical sessions in 2020 and requested to cancel the practical examinations for the board exams this year.
Earlier the Union Education Minister had a live interaction with students on December 10 to discuss forthcoming entrance exams including JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021.
