CBSE results fiasco: Answer sheets of 159 Odisha students to be re-evaluated

Cuttack: Orissa High Court today directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for re-evaluation of answer sheets of 159 students of Class XII who had moved the court over discrepancies in the results.

This came as a jolt to the Board as it had filed a review petition earlier in the day challenging answer sheet re-evaluation.

The High Court has directed the students to apply for re-evaluation by June 15 and asked the exam conducting authority to publish results by June 30.

On the other hand, the parents’ association today decided to withdraw from the stir for three days.

“We have decided to put our agitation on hold till June 17. We have called for a state-wide convention on June 17 where we would put our case before everyone. Next course of action would be decided then,” Sudarsan Das, said convener of Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha.

On the other hand, the body is mulling to move Supreme Court.

The association has decided to form an experts committee who would scrutinise the photocopies of answer sheets of aggrieved students. Basing on their recommendations, the association would take a call on moving the apex court.
