CBSE results fiasco: Odisha allows 177 students to apply for +3 admissions

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allowed the disgruntled students of CBSE, who had moved the High Court over discrepancies in their answer sheets evaluation, to apply for admission into colleges offering undergraduate courses.

The Department of Higher Education issued a notification in this regard today in which it has asked the students to apply Common Application Form (CAF) in offline mode before Wednesday.

“Government has allowed 177 CBSE pass out students, whose cases are pending in the High Court, to apply Common Application Form (CAF) in offline mode before July 21 in the SAMS Resource Centers (SRCs) for Degree Colleges only along with the Court order,” a notification of Department of Higher Education said.

Once the results are finalized, the students will submit all the documents in the SRCs within two days where they had submitted their CAF earlier. The selection will be done as per merit and choice, it added.

The department has sent a communiqué to the Chairman of Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha (OAM) which is representing the agitating students.

Notably, the High Court had directed the CBSE twice for re-evaluation of answer sheets of students – first 18 and later 159 students.
