Cuttack: The Odisha Government is mulling for establishment of a CDA-like township on the bank of Mahanadi river in Cuttack city, said Housing & Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena today.
"After dredging in Mahanadi river, 400 acres of land could be carved out between Bali Jatra ground and Hadiapatha. An integrated plan is being prepared for a CDA-like township on the river bank," the minister said.
"This apart, a sports complex will be built and 'tourism activities' will be facilitated with the help of Tourism Department. Besides, utilisation of the area for various offices and second campus of the SCB Hospital is under consideration," Jena said.
Guidelines of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) will be strictly followed while carrying out the activities, he added.
