The decision to cancel allotment of plots to these beneficiaries who had availed multiple plots under DQ was taken at a meeting of the CDA held in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, sources revealed.

The decision was taken on the basis of the recommendation made by CDA Vice Chairman and Cuttack Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra, sources added.

Sources said Mishra had recommended for cancellation of allotments to these beneficiaries after it was found during the course of inquiry that these beneficiaries had availed multiple plots under DQ by providing wrong information through false affidavits.

Out of the 12 beneficiaries whose plots will be cancelled, seven are couples while five held two plots in their names. A total of 24 plots were allotted to 12 families, the sources added.

The couples who had availed two plots through false affidavits are: Ranjita Dash and husband Purna Chandra Dash; Bhagabat Parida and wife Jasmine Parida; Debi Shankar Acharya and wife Sandhya Acharya; Harbinder Kaur and husband Rajesh Pal Singh; Kanaklata Pratihari and husband Purna Chandra Pratihari; Jyotsnamayee Rout and husband Gokul Chandra Jena; and Basant Manjari Dash and husband Baidyanath Dash.

Similarly, Bijay Kumar Maharana, Rajendra Prasad Singh, Ranjita Mohanty, Palash Kumar Patra and Niranjan Mohapatra had availed two plots each. They had held two plots in Sector-7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13.

“Their second plot will be cancelled. In case they have sold their second plot then their first plot will be cancelled,” informed CDA Secretary Kabindra Sahu.
