Acting on a complaint, the sleuths laid a trap and caught Bhagabati Guru, CDPO of Jagannathprasad block, while accepting a bribe of Rs 28,000 from a woman.

She was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 28, 000 promising a woman to engage her as an Anganwadi worker, said Berhampur Vigilance SP Manoranjan Panda.

According to the complainant Puja Rani Pradhan, she had applied for the post of Anganwadi worker at Charikonia Anganwadi Centre under Jagannathprasad block in the district. Later, she had approached the officer regarding her appointment. However, she allegedly demanded Rs 30,000 towards her appointment.
