Nabarangpur: A Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) allegedly pushed a woman clerk from her chair as the latter fell down. The incident took place at the Child Development Project Office in Dabugaon of Odisha's Nabarangpur district on Saturday.
A video of the incident surfaced on various social media platforms and went viral.
According to reports, CDPO Gitanjali Maharana and head clerk Santoshi Mishra engaged in a heated argument over an unresolved issue, which escalated when Maharana allegedly lost her temper and pushed Mishra from her seat.
Despite attempts by other staffers to intervene and prevent Maharana's misconduct, she continued to hurl verbal abuse at the head clerk.
The entire incident was captured on video by someone present in the office, who subsequently uploaded it on a social media platform. The video quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention to the shocking incident.
Mishra claimed that Maharana accused her of participating in a strike and threatened to mark the day as leave. Mishra, however, defended herself by stating that she had arrived at the office, signed the attendance register, and had not taken part in any strike.
CDPO Maharana refuted the allegations of physically pushing the head clerk. Maharana explained that upon her return from an area visit, Mishra approached her in a raised voice regarding a salary issue. As a meeting was already in progress, Maharana requested Mishra to leave the room. Maharana denied any physical altercation with the head clerk.
