A ceiling fan fell on a patient at Capital Hospital here today morning in the Dengue ward injuring his leg. It is the third such incident to occur in the Capital Hospital in the recent months.

The last such mishap took place in September when a ceiling fan had landed on the chest of a paralytic patient, injuring him severely. The incident had then caused a public outrage and the state government had promised to examine the safety standards in all government hospitals.

"The fact that such mishaps continue to occur on a regular basis in government hospitals shows no body in the government really cares what happens to poor patients in these 'sarkaari' hospitals,"said a relative of the victim of the 'fan mishap' today at the Capital Hospital.
