Central team visits Cyclone FANI-hit Puri for damage assessment

Puri: A Central team today visited several areas in Cyclone FANI-battered Puri district for damage assessment.

Accompanied with Odisha Industries secretary and Puri Collector, the inter-ministerial team led by Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj visited Arakhakuda under Krushnaprasad block and Hasinapur village in Brahmagiri for field inspection.

Earlier in the day, the team had meeting with Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi at Hotel Trident in Bhubaneswar before heading for the field visit.

The officials had arrived at Bhubaneswar yesterday for three-day tour to take stock of situation in the coastal districts that have been affected by the extremely severe cyclone FANI.
