Central University of Odisha joins CUET (PG): 2022 for admissions

Bhubaneswar/Jeypore: With the slogan “One Nation-One Test”, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has directed all the Central Universities to join the Common University Entrance: 2022 [CUET(UG)-2022] for admission into the Undergraduate Programmes in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. However, for the session 2022, joining the CUET (PG): 2022 programmes has not been made mandatory for the Central Universities (CUs).

The responsibility of for conducting the CUET (UG): 2022 for all Central Universities has been given to the National Testing Agency (NTA), an independent, self-sustained premier organization established under Ministry of Education (MoE) with a vision to provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country especially those from rural and other remote areas.

A single Examination will enable candidates to cover a wide outreach. The role of NTA is confined to registration of candidates, conduct of the test, hosting the answer keys, inviting challenges, finalizing the answer keys, preparing and declaring the result and hosting the Score Card. The merit list will be prepared by the participating Universities.

The Universities will have their individual counselling on the basis of the score card provided by the NTA and final merit list will be prepared as per the reservation rules and other eligibility criteria specified in the respective University’s Prospectus.

The Central University of Odisha (CUO) at Koraput, Odisha has joined CUET (UG): 2022 for which advertisement has already been made and has also decided to join the CUET (PG): 2022.

For CUET (UG): 2022, there is only one programme i.e. 5 yr Integrated Mathematics, whereas under CUET (PG), there will be 12 PG programmes and one B.Ed. programme. For conducting the Entrance Test, the NTA has come out with 28 centres throughout the length and breadth of the state of Odisha.
