Centre approves Vehicular Underpass construction in Odisha’s Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: A proposal for construction of a vehicular underpass at Sikharpur Square in Odisha’s Cuttack city has been approved by the Centre, informed Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in a letter to BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab.

The underpass will be constructed at Sikharpur Square in Chandikhol-Jagatpur-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16.

“The work is targeted to be completed in 18 months from the commencement date,” Gadkari said in the letter.

Bids were invited on EPC mode to execute the work and two bidders have participated. The bids are under evaluation for award of work, the Union Minister wrote in the letter.

Worth mentioning, Mahtab had on March 16 written to Gadkari requesting the latter to issue necessary directions to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for construction of vehicular underpass at Sikharpur Square.
