Centre to award Odisha for surplus food grain production

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been selected for Commendation Award under the Total Food Grains Category II for the year 2016-17, said a communiqué received from Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh.

Through the letter, Singh congratulated Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy and all officials of the department concerned for supporting farmers in achieving the milestone.

The award carries a citation and cash award of Rs 1 crore that will be distributed at Krishi Unnati Mela likely to be during February-March 2019.
