Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)-Odisha Nikunja Bihari Dhal held an all-party meeting in Bhubaneswar today, in a drive to prepare faultless voters list for the upcoming 2024 elections.

The CEO sought the cooperation of all political parties in the State in this regard. A brief correction of the voters' list is underway, based on the directive of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Accordingly, a draft list will be published on October 27 and the final list is to be published on January 5, 2024.

Desirous voters can apply for necessary corrections between October 27 and December 9, this year. After due and proper hearing of the written complaints made seeking corrections, will be addressed on or before December 26, the Chief Electoral Officer informed while briefing mediapersons.

The political parties were requested to submit comprehensive lists of deceased persons for the removal of their names from the voters list, through respective booth-level agents to the block-level officers (BLOs).

Dhal advised the political parties to make use of the voter helpline app of the Commission for this.
