Champions Trophy: India stun Belgium to set up semi-final clash against Pakistan

India produced a dramatic comeback beating Belgium by 4-2 goals in a thrilling quarterfinal match of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy at Kalinga stadium in Odisha’s capital tonight.

With this sensational victory, India will meet Pakistan in the semi-final on Saturday.

India suffered an early setback as Belgium scored two quick goals through Felix Denayer (12th minute) and Sebastine Dockier (18th minute).

However, the Indians fought back when Rupinder Pal scored the first goal in the 18th minute while his mate Uthappa Sannuvananda scored the equaliser in the 27th minute.

The hosts took the lead in the third quarter through Akashdeep in the 41st minute while Dharamvir scored the fourth goal for his team in the 49th to ensure a berth in the semi-final.

Dharamvir was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliant performance.
