Chandra Grahan tomorrow; check revised schedule of daily rituals at Puri Srimandir

Puri: The timings of daily rituals at Srimandir in Puri have been rescheduled on account of Chandra Grahan tomorrow.

As per revised schedule made by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the Dwaafita Niti will be conducted at 12.10 am. The Bhitarashodha, Mangala Alati, Mailama, Tadapa and Abakasha Niti will be performed in wee hours of Tuesday. The Suna Besha, also known as Rajadhiraj Besha, of Lord Jagannath and his Holy siblings will be performed by 2.30 am. The Bhoga Mandap rituals will be completed by 5.50 am.

However, the devotees will be deprived of having darshan of deities in golden attire inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Jagannath Temple on Kartika Purnima this year.

As the Mahasnana, Bhoga and other rituals are scheduled to be held after Grahan Sparsh at 2.28.14 (HH:MM:SS), the darshan of Lords in Suna Besha may not be possible, the SJTA clarified.

The Devaniti (rituals of deities) and Paka Tyaga (prohibition of cooking) will be suspended at 5.54.53 (HH:MM:SS) onwards at the time of Sunrise.

Accordingly, the Boita Bandana rituals will be performed in early hours tomorrow.
