Bhubaneswar: A record number of 8 million people watched the live stream of the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 lander Vikram on the south polar region of moon today.
Over 7 million people watched Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing on moon on Indian Space Research Organisation’s official YouTube channel, revealed South Asia Index.
Later, the figure went up to 8 million, said journalist Anshul Saxena in a X post.
The live stream of India’s successful lunar mission broke all previous records of live viewership on any Youtube channel in the world.
The previous record was reportedly held by YouTuber Casimiro who garnered 6.5 million viewership during the Brazil vs Croatia match in the quarterfinals of FIFA world cup in 2022.
India’s Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down on the south polar region of the moon, making India the fourth nation after USA, Russia and China to execute the lunar mission.
