Chhattisgarh train restriction: Railways asks Odisha to take up matter with Centre

Bhubaneswar: A day after the Odisha Government announced suspension of all public transport from Odisha to Chhattisgarh and vice versa in view of the COVID-19 situation, Indian Railways today asked the state government to take up the matter regarding cancellation of trains to/from the neighbouring state with the Union Home Ministry.

“As far as the movement restrictions are concerned, Railway operations have been allowed throughout the country as per Home Ministry guidelines dated 23.03.2021 duly complying with SOPs. You may seek necessary guidance from the Ministry of Home Affairs,” said Suneet Sharma, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board in a letter to Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Odisha Chief Secretary.
