Chief Secy reviews several development projects in Koraput including Gupteswar temple

Bhubaneswar/Koraput: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects in the Koraput district.

After reaching Jeypore town, Mahapatra visited the popular Gupteswar temple and reviewed the works, which are underway as per a master plan. The State government has taken up the beautification and development of the Shaivite shrine.

Previously, the construction of a stone staircase, market complex, parking area and development of a road stretching from the riverbank up to the shrine was carried out at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore. Adequate funds will further be provided for the completion of other works. The Ramagiri-Gupteswar approach road was also taken up by the government, Mahapatra said.

Earlier in the day, Chief Secretary Mahapatra directed the officials concerned to expedite development works at Koraput district headquarters hospital (DHH). He also reviewed the progress of Jeypore airport and advised to speed up the land acquisition required for the project.

Mahapatra also visited and reviewed the ongoing development works at Kolab Dam. He inaugurated two expanded buildings of Koraput collectorate in the evening.

Collector Abdaal M Akhtar, SP Abhinav Sonkar, Zilla Parishad chief development officer and executive officer Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, Additional Sub-Collector Rameswar Pradhan and a few other senior officials accompanied the Chief Secretary during his visit.
