Child kidnap case in Odisha’s Rourkela: Three women among four held

Rourkela: The police today arrested four persons including three women on charges of kidnapping a five-year-old boy in Odisha’s Rourkela city and selling him for Rs 1 lakh. Also, the child was rescued and handed over his family.

A police official said the accused abducted the child from Plant Site area in Rourkela city on December 4. They then sold him to a woman from Medinipur area of West Bengal for Rs 1 lakh.

The accused were Ashraf Ali from Birajapalli, Santoshi Naik from Kendrapara, Nirmala Das from Gopabandhupalli in Rourkela city. Another woman, Manuar Bibi from Rehmat Nagar in Medinipur was held for buying the minor boy.
