Christmas holiday cancelled in all schools in this Odisha district

Kalahandi: In a bid to improve pass percentage of Class 10 students in annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination- 2020, the Kalahandi Collector has ordered cancellation of Christmas holiday in all schools of the district.

As per the instruction of Collector Parag Harshad Gavali , the District Education Officer (DEO) has written a letter to Headmasters of all schools in this regard.

“All high schools will remain opened during X-Mas holiday in order to teach Class 10 students. The step has been taken to improve pass percentage of Class 10 students and achieve the target of cent percent result in the district,” the letter read.

Only December 25 will be a holiday, it added.

The DEO has asked all Headmasters to conduct parents meeting to convince them for allowing their children to remain present in school everyday during the holiday. Besides, teachers have been instructed not to take any leave during the holiday and take classes and tests as per the scheduled programme.
